VO5 Gunk Go

I am really into haircare currently after stripping my hair of a lot of the colour buildup, so I'm using more in the way of products to condition, style and heat protect. I decided I needed to get something to remove product build up and thought I would try this from Tesco a few of weeks ago.

I have found it effective and after use my hair feels lighter and without buildup. I use it like this .... I first shampoo with this product, then I do my second wash with ordinary shampoo and conditioner.

I must say I find the packaging and name very unattractive and unappealing but I tried to look past that.

I am sure there are lots of high end more expensive products I could choose but so far I am happy with this in use. It's normally £2.99 but was on offer in Tesco for half, £1.49.

Jewellery

I love jewellery as you know and am always adding to my collection. A new little piece I ordered arrived this morning. It's English pewter. Pretty isn't it?

Just my thoughts

I dare not post my thoughts on what has happened in London today or I would surely be off the air because there is no longer free speech in this country.

Just my thoughts

I didn't expect to be *thinking* again today after posting yesterday but having just read what I have just read, I can't stop myself from commenting on this man and his crime. I am thoroughly sick and tired of hearing about criminals and their human rights. We seem to now live in a society that ignores the victim and tends to the criminal, talk about getting things all the wrong way round! Here we have another monster (and I used the term advisedly) who mutilated and killed three young children and impaled their bodies on railings. This happened in 1973 and he was allowed anonymity. However now we see his picture, know of his crime and have his name - about time too. The public has a right to know all the details of monsters who commit crimes of this nature. Why do they deserve any protection? In my view they forfeited their rights when they committed the crime.

This person has been moved to open prisons and subsequently attacked by other inmates once they learned of his crime. He then had to be returned to closed conditions *for his own safety*. I don't give a damn about his safety - he killed someone's children and then did awful things to them - he has no rights. Even in prison, amongst hardened criminals they detest scum of this nature. He didn't fiddle his taxes or rob a bank, he KILLED children.

I even resent taxpayers money being used all these years to accommodate and feed this monster. No doubt he has a TV and all the other cosy homely gadgets to enrich his life. He has never had to earn his own living, support anyone, contribute to society, we the taxpayer have looked after him and we are still protecting him from those who might wish to punish him for his hideous crime. There is now talk of giving him a new identity!

Oh, I hear the do-gooders cry ... He has done his time, he is probably sorry, let him go free. In my view there are some crimes that are so evil, so hideous, so cruel that society owes them no forgiveness.

NB The above picture shows this creature on day release from prison.

Essie Nail Polish

Funny Face

This is Essie in Funny Face, recently purchased from Superdrug where they had a gorgeous selection of Essie shades all beautifully set out in colour families making it easy to choose exactly the shade you want.

You might be able to make out the *attack* marks on the bottle top? I simply could not get it open, I tried and tried, left it a while then tried again. The tightest cap I have ever encountered on any polish when new. So eventually I had to attack it with a bottle opener around the neck. I even had to use that a couple of times and at one stage thought I might have to take it back to the shop unopened.

I love Essie polishes though they are not the cheapest around, £7.99 in Superdrug. I love my Rimmel and BeautyUK polishes but the selection of shades in Essie is great. The quality of the polish too is lovely and I mostly find that 2 coats gives me an excellent coverage and opacity, the brush too works well for me.

This particular shade I love. It was in amongst several pinks so I was able to get exactly the one I fancied. It's bright without being too bright or neon pink. It's cool toned and has a nice summery feel about it. I like it because it gives me depth of colour without being too dark as I wear a lot of dark polishes. I don't suit light shades against my pale skin, too wishy washy for me. I like contrast. All in all, delighted with it.

Just my thoughts

As ever Britain welcomes immigrants with much needed skills into our country where we house them and provide them with benefits. Oh, and respect their human rights. This poor chap would have his head cut off if returned to his country and we simply cannot condone that, can we? After all, he only killed and mutilated several hundred people. Let's show a little tolerance here.

Well we must be a bit low on home grown talent, skilled in machete killing.

Just my thoughts

Since this Blog began in 2010, it has changed from being simply about beauty and product reviews and moved into more general topics like food and cooking, clothes, the home, even a few rhymes and all manner of other things. It is a very personal Blog to me and although I have had requests to share it and invite guest posters, etc., I have not gone down that route because it is personal to me, my likes, my thoughts, etc.

I have considered changing the name of the Blog to make it more appropriate to what I now do with it but that would have a variety of implications ... it would make it more difficult to find on searches, it would confuse no end of people including me and generally mess up a lot of things that have run fairly smoothly thus far. So, for the time being at least, I will leave the name the same.

Because this Blog is so personal to me, I think I would like to introduce a new category, that I could add to if and when I feel I have a comment to make on life in general. However, what I express in that category will quite simply be MY thoughts and feelings on a topic, clearly others might well have a quite different take or view point, so please bear in mind that I do not state my opinions as facts, I simply state my personal opinions. You are welcome to comment of course, or not, just as with any other post on here.

I will also tell you that in my now advanced years (!!!) I have developed more of an interest in politics and what goes on in the world, so I might well comment on things of this nature. If it bores you, simply ignore the post as they will in no way dominate the Blog. There will still be the girlie stuff, the posts hopefully of general interest and maybe a touch of humour too.

This category will be called ... Just my thoughts. This post will be the first one to start that category.
